To repair a LAN or high-speed Internet connection
- Open Network Connections.
- Before using the Repair option, try the following steps:
- Check the status indicator lights on the DSL or cable modem to verify that the connection to your Internet service provider (ISP) is working.
- Turn off the DSL or cable modem, and then turn it on again.
- If your Internet connection is not working after these steps, contact your ISP.
- If media is connected properly, under LAN or High-Speed Internet, right-click the connection that you want to repair, and then click Repair.

- You must be a member of the Administrators
group, the Power Users group, or the Network Configuration Operators group to complete this procedure.

- If you have more than one network adapter installed in your computer, it is recommended that you rename your Internet connection to easily identify it. For example, you could call your Internet connection "Internet connection" or use the name of your ISP.
- The Repair option is not available for media disconnected connections.
